FAQ for Giving

Why give to the Georgia State University Library?
The University Library is a critical information resource at Georgia State University. It supports the scholarship of students and faculty in every program, department and college on campus. It is also an important resource for the larger community in Georgia and for researchers nationwide. Your gift will help the Library grow in ways that other funding cannot accomplish and allow for programs, services and resources that government funding does not support.

What's the easiest way to make a gift? You can make a secure on-line gift here. You can also send a check payable to the Georgia State University Foundation, Inc., at P.O. Box 3963, Atlanta, GA 30302-3963. Designate on the memo line which fund you wish to support. Once your gift is processed, a letter of acknowledgement will be mailed to you for your records.

Are there other ways to give?
Yes. You may make a gift of cash or securities, an annual gift, pledge, planned gift, matching gift or major gift which is accompanied by a naming opportunity.

Can I make a donation in someone’s honor or memory?
Yes. You can make a donation at any level in another’s name. This type of gift is often made in memoriam of a loved one, in honor of a friend, family member or colleague or to commemorate a special occasion. You may also be interested in the library’s commemorative Bookplate Program.

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Is there a gift minimum?
No. Gifts of any size are welcome and always appreciated.
