Borrowing Materials and Library Privileges

The University PantherCard ID serves as the Georgia State University Library borrowing card.

Georgia State University students, staff, and faculty may borrow items from most academic libraries in Georgia. The University System of Georgia has a joint borrowing agreement among all state colleges and state universities, called GIL Express. Georgia State also has a separate joint borrowing agreement with Emory University's Woodruff Library. Materials may be borrowed from USG libraries and Emory's Woodruff Library using your Georgia State University PantherCard.

To borrow materials from many Georgia colleges and universities outside of the University System of Georgia, a special borrowing card is available at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of Library North. Be sure to obtain a special borrowing card before going to any these academic libraries.

In addition to Georgia State University faculty, staff, and students, the following may borrow materials from The University Library:

For questions about borrowing matters you may e-mail us at libcirc@langate.gsu.edu. Staff normally will reply via e-mail within one business day.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan Service is available to all GSU faculty, staff, and students. It provides for the borrowing of needed items not owned by University Library or available through GIL Express. Requests for items through Interlibrary Loan are completed using an electronic form found at http://www.library.gsu.edu/ils/ . You can also access this page from the main library page by clicking on Interlibrary Loan which is listed under "Library Services". Select "Logon to ILLiad" to begin the process. There is usually no charge to the patron for books or photocopies obtained through Interlibrary Loan. ILL can be reached at 404-413-2790 or at libill@langate.gsu.edu.
