What is a Recall?
A RECALL is a request for a book or item that is presently checked out to another user. Once it is checked in, it will be held for the next person in the queue.
How do I place a Recall?
In Person: First, write down the call number of the item you would like, ex. ND 123.F5, and take the number with a valid ID to either the Library North Circulation Desk or the Library South Circulation Desk. The Desk Attendant will take care of all the paper work, and the attendant will give you a receipt.
Online: Or by following the instructions for Online Recalls below.
How will I know when the item is available?
We will mail a notice saying that the item is ready to be picked up. You can call the Circulation Desk at 404-413-2820, and ask the attendant to check your record. Or you can check by following the instructions under Accessing Your Library Record.
Use the Online Recall to have a charged book held for you after it is returned. This process will prevent the book from being renewed or checked out by another patron. While the recall will not change the due date on a 28-day checkout, it will change a longer checkout period to 28 day
*** You must select an individual item to recall***
