The SLA is the official repository of the International Association of
Machinists and Aerospace Workers materials. Trained people here (Julia Marks

archival holdings at the SLA, as well as inquiries concerning union records you
might be keeping now.

Jr.
William Usery joined the I.A.M. in 195 and served the Cocoa Beach / Cape
Kennedy, Florida area from the late 1950's to 1969. Known for his arbitration
skills, he eventually was appointed to high positions in the Department of Labor
and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services. The Usery Papers are a part
of the Southern Labor Archives in Georgia State University's Special
Collections.

This "unique center for scholarly research on labor history, and the history of
socialist, anarchist, communist and other radical political movements" also
houses the editorial offices of Labor History, a journal enjoyed by
scholars which has great appeal for union members as well. The Tamiment
Institute and Wagner Archives encourage site visitors to contact them concerning
the keeping of "non-current" [archival] union records.

a link to the NARA Archival Information Locator (NAIL), a searchable database of
NARA’s holdings across the country. NARA has a very savvy site, and the people
