History
The Georgia Women's Movement Oral History Collection began in 1995 as part of the Georgia Women's Movement Project, a joint undertaking of the
Women's Studies Institute of Georgia State University and the Special Collections Department of The University Library. The collection is composed of taped interviews (audio cassettes) conducted by volunteers with participants in the Movement. These taped interviews, which continue to be conducted, describe participants' efforts to pass the
Equal Rights Amendment in the state of Georgia and relate to their participation in religious, political, and other organizations involved. Some interviews have been conducted with national figures and others on topics related to Georgia ERA ratification efforts. Biographical and other background information is also provided.
