Photographic Collections

Significant photographic collections enhance and support each of the collection areas.  More than 60,000 images (1889 to present) document labor union workers and activities, particularly in the South.  Georgia State University photographs (1916 to present) include images from the Office of Public Information, from university publications, and of faculty and students.

The Popular Music photographs include images relating to Johnny Mercer, Georgia country music and the early years of WSB Radio.  The Lane Brothers and Tracy O'Neal commercial photography collections contain more than 290,000 images of Atlanta from the late 1930's through the 1960's.

Photographs related to Atlanta, organized labor, and Georgia State University.
